PDM head Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday visited the residence of Ameer Bux Bhutto and expressed his condolence over the demise of his father, Mumtaz Bhutto.
Addressing a press conference later at the house of Awais Noorani, the JUI-F chief categorically turned down the election reforms proposed by the PTI government and told that they only wanted transparent and neutral elections in the country without any external intervention. He added that an extraordinary meeting of the alliance was proposed to formulate the next line of action regarding agitation movement against the government.

Fazal claimed that the government was busy in inducing new laws without taking the opposition into confidence. He added that the proposed laws on domestic violence and evacuee property were not aligned with the Constitution and Shariah and would prove to be destructive for the traditional family values.
The PDM head vowed to obstruct any legislation against Quran and Sunnah leading the country towards secularism. He told that a committee of senior clerics was going through the two bills and once they were done with it, a multiparty conference would be called to formulate strategy on nationwide protests for the safety and security of their family system.
Commenting on the international scenario, Maulana Fazl claimed that Pakistan was turned to isolation due to incompetence of the rulers. He added that Pakistan was not invited to the recent meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the Afghanistan issue and this was enough for proving that Pakistan could not deliver positively on foreign diplomatic affairs in the recent past.
He mentioned that the US President Joe Biden was not ready to have a telephonic conversation with the Prime Minister Imran Khan and Washington had categorically rejected IK’s claim that US demanded Air force bases in Pakistan to be used for monitoring and surveillance after withdrawal of their troops from Afghanistan. He claimed that despite being the oldest and closest friend, even China was not ready to rely on the gang of incompetents who were currently ruling the country.
He admired the leadership of Afghan Taliban for stepping up towards negotiations, being the only solution to the Afghanistan problem.
Commenting on the question regarding PPP, the PDM chief told that the Pakistan People’s Party had separated its ways with the opposition alliance due to its policies. He urged the PPP leadership to review their policy in people’s interests and benefits. He added that Imran Khan was leading an unconstitutional and illegal government and his role in the Pakistani politics was quite irrelevant now.

He criticized the Prime Minister for his narrative against corruption and the culprits and said that Imran Khan on side, called every other person a thief but his own government in KPK had allegation of Rs3 billion corruption under the head of Corona-related spending.
Maulana Fazl said it loudly and clearly that he would not accept any election under the current government as he did not trust them. He mentioned that the politics was not a children’s game which could be played alone without involving the opponents.
