PTI categorically rejected Prime Minister’s offer of grand dialogue to all stakeholders by saying that any dialogue with the government could only be made after the announcement of fresh elections. PM Sharif on Sunday had announced the said offer for the sake of country’s progress while opening the Indus Hospital . He had urged the political parties to keep the key sectors like education, health and industries above petty politics.
He asked the stakeholders not to indulge the development sector in politics so that the country might be led on the road to progress. The prime minister urged the political parties to play their role in the current situation by setting aside the ego and obstinacy so as to strengthen country’s economy and get rid of debts.
He stressed that all of the key stakeholders should think above personal likes and dislikes for the sake of national development. This is important to consider that Shehbaz Sharif has been calling for a grand dialogue since 2018 when the PTI had taken charge as the federal government. Last year in May; he had circulated the idea of grand dialogue through the floor of National Assembly as the opposition leader for the progress of the country.
How can we make a dialogue with those who are imposed on the country?, Shah Mehmood Qureshi says
Talking to the media after the meeting of PTI core committee on Sunday, vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that how could they go for a dialogue with those who were imposed on the country. He added that talks could only be made on holding fresh polls and nothing else.
PTI information secretary Farrukh Habib claimed in a video statement that the incompetent government had moved the idea of the grand dialogue just to hide its failures and unprecedented inflation which they had committed just in the first 50 days of its power.
He added how the PM could talk about the grand dialogue when he himself was responsible for the said problems the country was currently facing. Farrukh added that Sharif family looted the country just to establish their own properties abroad.
The government is trying to hide its incompetence and inflation by floating the idea of grand dialogue, Farrukh Habib claims
Prime Minister Sharif claimed that the Bengalis were never a financial burden on Pakistan however they were deliberately presented so. He added that today Bangladesh had touched the $40 billion mark in exports while on the other side Pakistan was still confined to export goods and services worth $27 billion only.
He mentioned that raising the petroleum prices was not an easy task for him and that he had taken the decision with quite a heavy heart. Commenting on the power load-shedding, the PM said that he was aware of the situation however the actual issue was that the current government had to buy oil and gas at higher rates for the existing power generation projects.
He added that the previous government had played a political trick by decreasing the petroleum prices in the month of March, 2022 as it had nothing to present in the form of relief to the masses during its regime. Shehbaz Sharif said that he was ready to be held accountable for his 50-day rule if the previous rulers would do the same.
